Music Monday: Together

Well, at least one good thing came out of the train wreck that was Dream High 2... the OST! Well, not every song was a hit (I swear "B Class Life" is extremely annoying), but Part 7 is the duet "Together" characters JB and Rian sing at the end of Episode 14, written by their classmate Hae-Sung.

In real life, "Together" is sung by Jiyeon (from the girl group T-ara) and JB, who play Rian and JB, respectively. The track was written by Park Jin-Young and released on March 13th, the day before the episode featuring the song aired. Although I feel that Jiyeon's first verse is a little shaky vocally, she gets it together fairly quickly and it's a pretty good ballad.

The lines "When we're together" are actually sung in English, and like most singers singing in a foreign language, the words come out near perfect in verse as opposed to normal speech (in the theater scene in DH2 episode 13, if JB wasn't holding the sheet music with the word "together" written on top, I would've never figured out he was saying that). I was afraid that the English lyrics wouldn't come out clearly, but Jiyeon and JB did a wonderful job. I was reminded of Selena: how she couldn't speak Spanish very well, but could sing in it as if she were a native speaker.

This is a song that I foresee getting played many times on my ipod.
